Data Sources
GoldPriceTracer aggregates live gold prices from international spot benchmarks and official exchange rates. This page documents our primary sources, update frequency, and how local currency rates are calculated.
Live Price Methodology
- International spot: XAU/USD benchmark from commodity market feeds (COMEX-linked spot).
- Exchange rate: USD converted to local currency (BDT, INR, USD, AED, SAR, PKR, GBP, CAD, and more).
- Karat adjustment: 24K = 100% purity; 22K = 91.67%; 21K = 87.5%; 18K = 75%.
- Retail premium (select markets): Bangladesh uses a BAJUS-style retail estimate on top of spot; other countries show spot-based indicative rates.
- Update frequency: Browser cache refreshes every 15 minutes; server-side JSON updated on a scheduled cron.

Local Market References
Country pages cite regional authorities where applicable — for example IBJA (India), BAJUS (Bangladesh), LBMA (UK), and COMEX (USA). These references describe how local markets set retail rates; our live tables are independent benchmarks, not official association publications.
Historical & Statistics Data
Historical charts and statistics pages aggregate publicly available time-series from World Gold Council demand/supply reports, IMF International Financial Statistics, central bank reserve disclosures, and commodity market archives.
Limitations
Displayed rates are indicative and may differ from your jeweller's final quote due to making charges, taxes (GST, VAT), and dealer margins. Always confirm prices before transacting. See our Disclaimer.
